মেঘনাদ সাহা- একজন বিজ্ঞানী ও বিপ্লবী

বৃটিশ শাসনামলে মেঘনাদ সাহা ভারতবর্ষ তথা সারা বিশ্বে একজন খ্যাতিমান পদার্থবিদ হিসেবে সমাদৃত হয়েছিলেন। ১৯২০ এর দশকে তিনি নক্ষত্রের বর্ণালী বিশ্লেষণে তাপীয় আয়নীকরণ তত্ত্বে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রাখেন। ভারতের স্বাধীনতার পূর্বে ও পরে আমৃত্যু তিনি বিজ্ঞানের জন্য এবং বিজ্ঞানমনষ্কতা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য নিরন্তর কাজ করে গেছেন। তাঁর জীবনী আমাদের উৎসাহীত করবে নানা ভাবে। প্রথমতঃ তিনি বাংলাদেশের এক অজপাঁড়া-গাঁ এর দরিদ্র ও নিন্মবর্ণের হিন্দু পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহন করেও নানা প্রতিকূলতার বাধা পেরিয়ে বিজ্ঞানের সর্বোচ্চ শিখরে পৌঁছেছিলেন। দ্বিতীয়তঃ তিনি কেবল একজন বিনম্র পড়ুয়া লোকই ছিলেন না, তিনি ভারতের স্বাধীনতার জন্য বৃটিশ বিরোধী সশস্ত্র বিপ্লবে জড়িয়েছিলেন যে আন্দলনের ফসল হিসেবে ১৯৪৭ সালে ভারতের স্বাধীনতা অর্জিত হয়। আজ এই বিপ্লবী-বিজ্ঞানীর কঠোর জীবন-সংগ্রাম ও অবদানের গল্পই করব। তৎকালীন ঢাকা কলেজ মেঘনাদ সাহার জন্ম ১৮৯৩ সালের ঢাকা থেকে ৪০ কিলোমিটার দূরে শ্যাওড়াতলী গ্রামে। তিনি তাঁর পিতা জগন্নাথ সাহার আট সন্তানের মধ্যে পঞ্চম ছিলেন। একজন সাধারণ মুদি দোকানী পিতার পক্ষে এতবড় সংসার চালানো দুঃষ্কর হয়ে পড়েছিলো।...
